

At the Laurels, we care for men from the age of 65 and women from 60 years old (variations can be sought for older adults, younger than above statement in exceptional cases).We accommodate 22 permanent residents with diverse needs. Great care is taken when admitting new clients. This is to ensure the existing residents remain comfortable and that new residents feel welcome and comfortable and to maintain the happy atmosphere within the home. There is no segregation of residents unless individuals prefer to remain private.
The Laurels, is the residents home and all routines and legal requirements are carried out with the minimum of fuss so as not to encroach on residents daily lives. A full workforce is employed to ensure more than adequate staff are in attendance, to cater to all needs and to provide plenty of quality time with each individual, adhering to their specific requirements.
Our aim is to support residents in their preferred day to day way of life. We encourage independence, administering support and assistance where needed. All aspects of resident’s rights are upheld.
Personal choice is foremost and great lengths are taken to ensure resident’s dignity is maintained.

We assist fully in the enrolment of outside services and professional practitioners as required. Moving and handling equipment is available for those with restricted mobility. All staff are trained in the use of such equipment and all machinery is maintained to a high standard.
It is our aim and objective to maintain the high standard of care that we are known for. The Laurels is located within a short distance from Wickford town centre and is on a bus route.We are situated on a quiet road with local facilities nearby.
The home is decorated in light pastel colours that offer a fresh atmosphere whilst retaining a clean homely feel.
All rooms are clean and well furnished with own washing facilities. Six rooms have their own en-suite facilities. All rooms apart from one double room, offer singular occupancy.
Residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms. Rooms are private and entry is gained by invitation only.
A large spacious lounge is available for use at all times, plus a comfortable dining area.
In addition there is a spacious conservatory to provide a quieter area, this leads to a large, well maintained garden. At the Laurels, we believe in meeting all needs.This includes mental stimulation delivered via daily activities within the home plus regular entertainers visiting the home.
Staff provide a large range of activities ranging from Beauty Therapies, reminiscence, to cooking activities etc.
Regular outside entertainers include Talents Theatre School & Diane Moore, themed singer, amongst others.
Outings and community activities are regularly arranged. |
