The Laurels Ltd. Is an established home of twenty years, approved by the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI).

The Laurels is privately owned and directed by Mr. Terry Dobson who has been the sole owner since establishment twenty years ago. As his only residential premises, Mr Dobson is fully involved in all aspects of ensuring the home maintains the high standards accredited to it. Mr. Dobson is present within the home most days and during his absence, he can be easily contacted to give support and advice or to attend the home if required.

 

The manager Ms. Tina Wateridge has been with The Laurels for ten years and holds her level four managers award amongst several other accreditations. She is present within the home, on a daily basis and is available to offer advice and support at any time.

 

Ms. Wateridge is responsible for the day to day running of the home and to oversee all aspects of daily occurrences. Weekends are overseen by senior supervisory staff. Mr. Dobson and Ms. Wateridge both live in close proximity to the home, and either one can be contacted 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Laurels has a long record of providing quality care to its service users.

We pride ourselves on the family atmosphere within the home, and the friendly inter-action with visiting friends and relatives of our residents.

 

The Laurels offers safe, clean and comfortable accommodation to twenty two residents with diverse needs. To ensure the comfort of residents and to provide a high quality of care to each individual within the home, thorough pre-assessments are undertaken before admission of new residents, to maintain the comfortable atmosphere within.

 

As providers of care to vulnerable people, we are subject to both announced and un-announced visits from the inspection officers. Full inspection reports on The Laurels can be found on CSCI website: www.csci.org.uk. and follow the “inspection report” link.

 

Our most recent reports are displayed in our reception area of the home, and are available for perusal to all visitors.

 

Interested prospective clients are encouraged to visit the home (no appointment needed) avoiding meal times if possible (12.30/1.30& 5pm/6pm) where you will be given a tour of the premises, a description of our services and any questions answered.

The Laurels offers a day care option for those that may not yet be ready to commit to full residential accommodation.

A visiting client can be admitted for the full day with breakfast, dinner and tea provided.

 

Their care package would be constructed to the individuals needs and specifications.

 

A full pre-assessment would take place before admission was permitted.

 

All facilities of the home are offered to day-stay clients.
